Treating A Deep Cut or Laceration
I'm starting off this blog with something a little different than I had originally envisioned. Today I am going to show you how to clean a deep laceration(cut/gash/wound)*!
First off, if you ever get a wound like this(taken after initial cleaning):
and go the hospital in Seattle you better be prepared to wait for several hours in line(Thanks Obama!). Since the government doesn't give info on how to treat this I would highly recommend checking out this site which I used and gives good information.
First all you will immediately go into shock and start sweating. Don't panic, but have someone grab anything to stop the bleeding. After you do that elevate the wound. If the wound isn't bleeding too bad follow below, otherwise depending on where it was you might have hit an artery in which case you should use a tourniquet. Unless you want to get addicted to pain meds like all the crackheads in the emergency room, use your legal intoxicants which can be addictive but isn't as bad as oxys.
You will need the following items to treat the wound: Neosporin spray, medical tape, sterilizing wipes, Gauze, stretch gauze(not shown because I used it all), lighter(to sterilize/not shown), scissors(not shown/optional) and razor(optional but handy for guys):
My cut was really deep but luckily wasn't too large. After you get the bleeding under control, wash the wound with the cleanest water you have and clean the wound out with the wipes, as well as the surrounding area to prevent infection. Then sterilize the scissors with the lighter, and cut any loose skin off with scissors. If you are a guy, take the razor and sterilize it with the lighter. Cut any hair around the wound, wipe any blood away, spray Neosporin all over the wound and quickly place gauze over the wound. Take the stretch gauze and wrap it tightly around the gauze. After you wrap it 10 times or so depending on the size, take the tape and wrap it around the stretch gauze. At the end you should have something like this**:
For those of you wondering how this happened, I tripped and fell on a smoker I was building. The thin sheet metal bent into a V as it hit my Tibia and then ripped into my Tibialis Anterior about 3/4 of an inch deep and about the size of a quarter.
KK and I will be contributing to this blog and using it for everyday useful tips, cooking, traveling, the outdoors and commentary. Tomorrow I will be writing a post on how the Seattle police have decriminalized hard drugs such as crack, heroin and methamphetamine and how ObamaCare has affected this policy.
**Disclaimer: I am on strong antibiotics because of a cold, so taking them will work out in helping fight any possible infection in my wound. Please make sure you watch your wound for infection as it heals and acquire antibiotics if it gets very irritated and red. You can also try and talk to a retarded doctor who just prescribes medication to get them :p.

I learned that you can use flame as a means to sterilize. Nice little refresher on mountain medicine too! I'm going to go double check my first aid packs now.
You should start a YouTube channel with this stuff. Great info, thanks for the share.
